We’re Soft Now

This problem is all mine; I own it. Hear me out, it's worth considering. We are now soft, full stop. This includes the hardest of us. Life is so convenient, unavoidable in modern times. Simply choosing to avoid society is the only solution, but only for the rarest humans, seeing many limitations on their own. As a martial arts coach, lifelong practitioner, and former professional fighter, this message could be my most valuable contribution. I know 99% of people in this world will refute or reject it. I am a rare and possibly ignorant breed.

A unique opinion, but sports are to blame for much of our emasculation and weakening. I strongly dislike sports, like football, soccer, basketball, tennis, and team sports of any kind. The reason is that they are games to be played with low stakes. They produce spectators, bystanders, and know-it-all non-performers. One could be an intellectual expert on stats, but has athletic ability in the negatives. The industry is so reliant upon these people to produce profits in the billions. I’d love to hear a rebuttal against my claim. These games are watered-down displays of war-like strategies, with high athletic ability, but low usability in the real world. As a common trend to sports becoming continually safer, combat sports have continued to weaken over the last century.

Fighting was an Honorable and Noble Pledge

Once known to be a poor man’s sport. The only way up from a bad situation. At minimum, a prize could be won to put food on the table, win or lose, and at the price of our well-being. Science has continued to show a negative physical impact on combat sport athletes. Causing governing bodies to regulate for more safety. Fighters have never required scientific intervention to know the effects were negative, because we simply never cared. A narrative would be fed to the masses culturally, around these medical findings. Degradation of the warrior archetype at its finest. Being American-raised, I was taught from a young age to be proud of our toughness and athletic prowess on the world’s competitive level of combat sports. For this is what would make Americans great, and boys would have strived for such honor and victory. Now praises ring out for pacifists and hormonally neutered men. Male physicality once V shaped, now pear-shaped.

I’ve come to understand that martial arts is as good as dead. Trend and comparison of compartmented aspects of the arts have been the thief of joy and their powerful reputations. The sport of MMA is extinguishing styles and creating MMA-specific athletes. The remaining two marketable styles of Muay Thai and BJJ are seemingly to be last up on the guillotine. We are watching combat sports be packaged, palatable, and digestible, and sold to the weakest members of society, as a means of fitness and a false sense of competence. A lack of desire for challenge grows from a culture of instant gratification and gluttonous pleasure. Society has become accustomed to a dopamine drip at the swipe of a finger.

Cynical? Certainly, but Optimistic for Scarcity

We’re at a fork in the road. Reclaim manhood, be a provider, protector, and pillar of strength and leadership. Or evolve into a vegetable. My place in society is clear, yet unpopular. Given my stance, being unpopular would be a benefit to attract only an elite-level warrior class. Skills developed under the pressure of imminent danger are the only means of survival. Rhino Ryu offers just that. We are blessed by God to have the most remarkable body and brain of any animal on the planet. We could develop tools to operate at a higher capacity. I beg people to reject ease in usability and adopt skills and grit to function. Survival of the fittest is God’s greatest solution for our problems. Strong survivors in a gene pool are the transcendence of man. Fuck betas, fight me. Osu.
